Elder Parker!

So my cousin is in the MTC at the present moment and we have so much fun on Saturdays. I lead him on a St. Patty's day hunt but he couldn't figure it out so I had to let him cheat and just give him his prize.
He also loves to make a big deal about how we're family so he can hug me and talk to me. Its so much fun, he cracks me up. He'll give me a quick hug then step back and announce to the cafeteria "I'm so glad I can give my FAMILY a hug" then he'll make a small show of hugging me again.
He's gonna be a great missionary! I know cuz he's my cousin.

MTC of GREATNESS

I love my job. On Saturday I work at the MTC (missionary training center) and I love it. It's so much fun and I get paid. Anyways my cousin Parker is currently in the MTC getting ready to embark to Montana shortly. I got to see him on Saturday at Lunch and Dinner. He's doing great. He is certainly thriving in the MTC. He is in a threesome companionship since one elder got sent home already and he seems to be getting along great with the companions. One is from California and he seems very chill and fun. The other is from somewhere back East and he is a little bit different. He's just awkward to put it in one word. But Parker is able to deal with him just fine. On Wednesday I am planning on leading Parker through a Leprechaun hunt in honor of St. Patties day. If anyone knows of some great cheap goodies to put in the pot of gold let me know.

This week was crazy busy and I love it all. I love teaching my 2nd graders and coaching my girls. I'm just ready for it to become a routine instead of stress. SOMEDAY i'm sure.

Mama Mia

I'm listening to the soundtrack right now....thats the only reason for the title.

Family is the greatest thing since LIFE (take that Spencer). I can't believe how wonderful it is to have the family I do. I can't imagine going throughout life without the love and support of my imediate family as well was my extended family. I am truly blessed in the fact that both sides of my family get along so well and enjoy doing things together. I love all the wacky traditions my families have. The Davidson's are always a hoot when they get togther. We just like to laugh and tease each other. But then we can turn around and in a blink of an eye give the comfort needed and shed tears together.

The Heywood's although several hundred miles away still play a huge roll in my life. They're support isn't physical but it is still there just the same. I love going to Jackson Hole and doing the exact same thing every year and never getting bored from it. It's so true we do the exact same things ever year...the river, the BarJ, the Old Time Photo, Mountain High Pizza, The Toy Shoppe...and yet I love it ever time.

Family isn't it about time...as corny as that is i Love it!

i just wanna dance... I practiced

the title you ask.... just a line from my fav. disney movie can anyone name it?

I've been inspired by my dear cousin Heather to do better on my blog. Thanks Heather.

Anyways life has been wonderful. Today I had the day off to work on my TWS (The dreaded Teacher Work Sample) and did I do any of it today...um NO! I did get a lot done tho. I went to BYU and took care of all the lameO fines and fees they tacked on my account. Then I came home just in time for lacrosse practice. Practice went well but not as well as I wish it did. It could've been so much better but dang I'll get them tomorrow. Then I came home to find my dad cooking Spaghetti and after eating we had scriptures and now I'm helping my little sister plan out her entire life. ;)
See what a productive day.
Another thing I did was I bought the Student Manual for Old Testament just for my own benefit. I'm excited to use it on my own to learn more about the OT. I mean ever since going to Jerusalem I've fallen in love with the Bible and can't learn enough about it. I've also come to better understand the OT and how it shows God's love.
Anyways I'm excited for my new book. Am I a nerd or what?

Student teaching!!!!

OH MY HECK!!
Student teaching is way more work then anyone ever admits! But boy is it fun. I'm now fully in charge of the class, my teacher is gone the whole day. But it's so much work.
Today my kids just went crazy, so tomorrow we are going to have a class meeting and discuss who is in charge and what it means to be the teacher and student.
But it is very rewarding. today one of my students wore her older brother's cleats the whole day for no apparent reason.
It made me laugh

Happy Inaguration Day!

Today was a Teacher Work Day so we didn't have to teach today. All the BYU student teachers in Jordan District met for a seminar on teaching instead of going to our schools. We took time out of the seminar to watch the Inauguration events. What an amazing experience. I don't think I've ever seen one live. President Obama sure knows how to speak to people. As teachers we talked about how it is our job to honor the office of President even if we don't agree with what the office holder is doing. The job as President is such a hard job it deserves respect. I am excited for Obama's presidency. I have never really understood or cared for politics but as I move into the big real world as an adult I think I need to change my thinking and get involved and educated on what is going on in Washington. This is my country after all.

PS if you want a silly children's book to read about the job of the president read THE KID WHO BECAME PRESIDENT. It is hilarious and my students all love it.
